The historical city of Williamsburg, Virginia rests between the James, York, and Chickahominy rivers and is just an hour away from the Atlantic ocean. A private police force keeps the area safe.

Local public schools include Matoaka Elementary School, Berkeley Middle School, and Lafayette High School, so your kids will be close to education from kindergarten to 12th grade.
Ford’s Colony has a variety of neighborhoods and housing types, including townhomes, condos, colonial cottages, and executive homes, with prices that range from $400,000 to over $1 million.
New Town
New Town’s name is accurate, as this planned community began construction in 2003. It has both residential and commercial areas. Homes include single-family homes, condos, townhomes, loft apartments, a main street, and a shopping mall.
You’ll find lots of greenery and parks in this 365-acre neighborhood. Although construction is new, the architecture resembles the old Colonial style.
The designers wanted the neighborhood to have everything its residents would need, so New Town has medical and dental services, a fitness center, outdoor concerts, and a 12-screen theater in addition to everything else we mentioned.
You’ll also find more than 170 restaurants and shops.
Home prices here range from $250,000 to $800,000.
Governor’s Land at Two Rivers
Would you like to live on the waterfront? Then Governor’s Land at Two Rivers may be your neighborhood. The name of the neighborhood comes from the fact that it’s at the juncture of the James and Chickahominy Rivers. And yes, being in such a location, you can easily enjoy fishing and boating.
The area also has a golf course, tennis courts, swimming pools, ponds, and many walking trails. You can relax or walk along the four miles of shoreline and enjoy the river views.
Residents can join the golf and garden clubs and take various classes. Plus, there are youth activities for kids.
Prices for plots range between $100,000 and $140,000 while prices for homes range from $525,000 to $2.6 million.
