- Virginia Beach Restaurant Week
Virginia Beach has an estimated 1,300 restaurants, so you could eat at a different restaurant every night for about four years here. Virginia Beach Restaurant Week celebrates the city's diverse culinary scene with more than 90 local restaurants participating. Some offer deals, too! This even takes place every January, so mark your calendar and come hungry.
- Patriotic Festival
The Virginia Beach Patriotic Festival takes place every year over Memorial Day weekend. A celebration of military members and veterans, it ncludes live music, a military exposition, and a patriotic tribute show.
- Sandstock
A Tribute to Rock and Roll - Sandstock is a three-day outdoor music festival taking place in June, celebrating classic rock. You can enjoy live bands, food cars, and arts and crafts booths. The proceeds benefit the Virginia Legends Wall.
- Virginia Beach Neptune Festival
Neptune to the Romans, Poseidon to the Greeks, he still has a place of honor in many beachside towns, and Virginia Beach is no exception. Neptune Festival is named for that ancient god of the sea. It takes place in September and draws thousands of visitors each year. The festival includes a parade, sand sculpting competitions, a boardwalk weekend, and a grand finale fireworks display.
- Latin Fest
This event, also called La Fiesta, happens in August every year. It celebrates Latin American music and culture. This bustling event includes live music, dance performances, and vendors serving Spanish and Mexican food.
- Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships
Surfing is big in beach towns on both the East Coast and the West, but the Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships is the longest-running surf competition in the country. This event brings top surfers from around the world to Virginia Beach. You can enjoy it in August. Check out the surf competitions, music, and play some beach volleyball.
- Virginia Beach FunkFest Beach Party
Also happening in August is the Virginia Beach FunkFest Beach Party, a celebration of funk music and beach culture. Stop by for live music, food from various vendors, and two fun-filled days at the beach.

Held in October, the Virginia Beach Craft Beer Festival is a celebration of craft beer and local breweries. The festival includes tastings, food vendors, and live music.
- Holiday Lights at the Beach
You’ve got to love the winter holidays! Especially with events like Holiday Lights at the Beach Event, where, from late November to early January, the Virginia Beach Boardwalk is transformed into a winter wonderland with more than 50 festive light displays. Drive or stroll through the boardwalk with loved ones, take photos, and revel in the holiday spirit.
